Piraeus Bank resumed UAH transactions’ authorization abroad and on foreign websites

Piraeus Bank resumed UAH transactions’ authorization by means of UAH cards abroad in internet shops and regular distribution network. Thus, when choosing the currency of payment while paying for goods and services abroad by means of the UAH card, one can choose any currency, including UAH.

Previously, the bank reported on suspending the UAH transactions’ authorization abroad to avoid the losses of funds due to the double conversion. The reason of such losses was significant difference between the official rate and the real market rate to foreign currencies, which in its turn leads to the difference between exchange rates of the goods’ seller and Ukrainian currency market.

Thus, the order of payments in foreign currency through UAH cards, remains unchanged.
